Wholesome – Stout

La Wholesome Stout del Wye Valley Brewery è definita “una birra di poche parole”. Una stout in stile, senza deviazioni o sorprese. La nocciola che predomina, il cioccolato e tanto orzo tostato danno un discreto carattere ai suoi 4,6% e soddisfano le aspettative. La schiuma è abbondante e di grana fine ma poco persistente, il colore un intenso marrone. La bevuta è vellutata e avvolgente, il finale secco e amaro, e questo aiuta sicuramente la bevuta che non stanca mai. I luppoli del birrificio sono per l’80% raccolti nei dintorni, nella bellissima Wye Valley fra Inghilterra e Galles che vale sicuramente un tour di degustazione.

Wholesome Stout by the Wye Valley Brewery is said to be “a beer of few words”. A stout in style, without detours or surprises. The predominant hazelnut, chocolate and lots of toasted barley give character to its 4.6% and meet all expectations. The foam is abundant and of fine grain but not very persistent, the color an intense brown. The drink is velvety and enveloping, the finish dry and bitter, and this certainly helps the drink. The brewery’s hops are 80% harvested in the surrounding area, in the beautiful Wye Valley between England and Wales which is definitely worth a tasting tour.
