Granny’s – Red Ale

Siamo in Irlanda, contea di Kildare, base del birrifico Rye River Brewing Co. e della sua costola McGargles “il miglior piccolo birrificio d’Irlanda”.
La Granny’s Red Ale, al tempo Granny Mary’s Red Ale (le hanno cambiato nome nel 2018) è una Red Ale in pieno stile Irish, vincitrice di numerosi premi l’ultimo dei quali è il World Beer Award – Ireland Winner del 2019. Colore ramato, schiuma compatta e abbondante.
Come stile insegna, l’amaro del luppolo non predomina la bevuta (quando fu inventata la Red Ale il luppolo non era conosciuto in Irlanda), i malti (Vienna e Cara) sono protagonisti con il panificato, il caramello e sfumature di frutta scura.
Il corpo è equilibrato e la bevuta bilanciata tra il dolce e la chiusura leggermente amara.
Il grado alcolico segna 4,4%.

Coppery color, compact and abundant foam.
As a style teaches, the bitterness of hops does not predominate drinking ( when the Red Ale was invented, hops were not known in Ireland), malts (Vienna and Cara) are the protagonists with bread, caramel and shades of dark fruit.
The body is balanced and the drink balanced between sweet and slightly bitter finish.
The alcohol content marks 4.4%.
