Proviene dal Latino il nome di questa birra, Atra, del birrificio 32 Via dei birrai. Il suo significato, Scura, ben le si addice.
Con questo suo bel colore Tonaca di Frate, la schiuma corposa e color ocra chiaro.
A naso si percepisce chiaramente un profumo di vaniglia cioccolato e caffè. In bocca questo sapore si accentua aiutato da un gusto piacevole di liquirizia, oltre che caffè e cioccolato.
Una birra che può essere servita a temperatura ambiente, detta “da meditazione”.
